Rica Cuff, also known as Rica Duffus Cuff, is a distinguished figure in etiquette training, broadcasting, and community outreach. Her dynamic career spans decades, showcasing her dedication to empowering individuals and fostering community connections. Rica’s impactful work has positioned her as a sought-after speaker, mentor, and thought leader across generations.
After graduating from Penn State University, Rica began her career in broadcasting in Philadelphia with roles that included newsroom assistant for WHYY TV-12 and reporter at KYW Newsradio in Philadelphia. Her work in journalism underscored her commitment to highlighting educational and social issues, a focus that remains central to her community initiatives today. Rica’s on-air presence and ability to connect with diverse audiences have made her an influential voice, paving the way for media to address critical community issues.
As the founder and president of Etiquette Works Inc., Rica has trained all generations and individuals from varied backgrounds in mastering professional presence, communication skills, and etiquette. From guiding professionals on maintaining polished appearances at business meetings to helping youth understand the value of first impressions, Rica has a reputation for delivering transformative experiences.
Her methodology emphasizes the importance of cultural authenticity while navigating formal and professional environments, aligning perfectly with initiatives to prepare Chicago’s youth for success in a global economy.
In her role as the 50+ Coordinator for the Hoffman Estates Park District, Rica Cuff developed and facilitated programs designed to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens, fostering social connections and lifelong learning. A recognized leader and advocate for intergenerational understanding, Rica’s events celebrated her contributions to the community and her passion for bringing people together.
Rica’s dedication to bridging generational and community divides is further reflected in her academic and creative pursuits. She earned her master’s degree in Biblical Studies from the Moody Theological Seminary, grounding her work in deep compassion and faith. Currently, she is authoring a powerful book chronicling the stories of mothers she interviewed in women’s shelters across Chicago. Through these stories, Rica seeks to illuminate the resilience of these women, connecting their experiences to foster greater understanding, empathy, and passion among generations and communities.
